It’s that time of year Florida. Hurricane season hasn’t officially started yet, but there’s some activity weather watchers are focused in on a few hundred miles southwest of Bermuda.

Channel 10 reports a “low-pressure system is forecast to develop.” If this does become our first tropical system of the year, it’d be given the name “Andrea.” They think there’s about a 30% chance it’ll turn into a sub-tropical or tropical cyclone in the next 24-48 hours.

Two things though… they think it’ll be a quick storm. And fortunately it doesn’t seem to pose any threat to Florida. They think it’ll move north and away from the coast. But regardless, it’s that time of year to get ready for another hurricane season. Next time you’re doing a grocery store run, maybe grab some fresh batteries and bottled water because you know how fast they disappear the moment there’s a threat to Tampa Bay.
