The City of Lakeland and Amazon strike a deal. The city approved a ground lease with Amazon.
Amazon plans to build an air cargo operation at Lakeland Linder International Airport. They’ll have 47 acres with the option to expand to 62 acres within the first five years.
Amazon will build a 223,000 square foot building, along with two additional buildings up to 60,000 square feet combined.
This is a $100 million deal. Nice for Lakeland and the Bay Area!
This new operation could offer as many as 1,000 jobs.
