What You Need To Know About Hepatitis A In Tampa Bay
We’ve got a hepatitis A problem in the Bay area.
When you look back over a previous five year period, you’ll see that there were fewer than 1,200 reported in Florida.
There have been 1,220 already this year! What areas of the state are we finding them in? A preponderance of cases have been noted in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, and Polk counties.
I chatted with Kevin Baker, Epidemiology Program Manager with Florida Department of Health. He let us know how hepatitis A is most easily transmitted, who is at risk, and what can be done about preventing the spread of the disease.
