Are You Using Sunscreen Correctly?
New dangers have been reported when it comes to using sunscreen…

Here in Tampa Bay we're all about sun and fun. And we all know that sunscreen is one of those things you have to slap on before heading to the beach. But are we really using it correctly?
Dermatologist Dr. Tanya Kormelli says a recent American Academy of Dermatology study found that, "only about a third of Americans are reapplying their sunscreen every two hours while outside. Since sunscreen wears off, incorrect usage leaves you unprotected and susceptible to skin cancer,"
Suncreen Use Tips:
- Chose a sunscreen that is broad-spectrum, water resistant, and has an SPF of 30 or higher.
- Apply sunscreen 15 minutes before going out in the sun
- Most adults need about 1 oz of sunscreen (about a shot-glass full) to properly cover their skin.
- Remember, even if it is cloudy, UV rays penetrate cloud-cover and you will burn.
