Mail Stolen In Lutz From Mailboxes, Thief Uses Info To Steal Credit Cards

Lutz residents are upset about the boldness of a thief who has been taking personal information from mailboxes, but it doesn’t stop there.
The thief has also been using stolen personal information to order credit cards, and then he waits and comes back when the cards are delivered.
The thief has pulled off this scheme apparently dozens of times. He takes the card and uses them for cash advances. The residents learn of the scam when they receive a fraud alert for a card for which they didn’t apply.
A man has been seen in neighborhoods, and a report has been filed with the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office.
