A new study discovered white meat can be just as bad for your cholesterol.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition found that plant-based protein diets are better for you.
Researchers observed more than 100 healthy men and women between the ages of 21 and 65.
Each group tried three different diets. One diet featured red meats. One diet featured chicken. And one diet focused on non-meat proteins.
The results showed that the plant-based diets were least harmful to a person’s cholesterol. The diets consisting of red or white meat equally negatively affected cholesterol.
