Sarasota County Mulls New Student Cell Phone Policy
Should students be allowed cell phones at school? It’s time for the Sarasota School Board to make that decision.
The decision will cover all grade levels.
The new policy, if they give it a positive vote, would have phones muted and out of sight at all times.
In middle school, students would have phones muted and put away except under supervision.
In Sarasota high schools, phones will be muted and put away, except when students are out of class, such as between classes and lunch. Students may have them out while supervised.
