Check Out This Previously Unheard Freddie Mercury Track From 1986
Queen fans in England got a real treat as the BBC gave a previously unheard Freddie Mercury track its radio premiere.
“Time Waits For No One” was originally released in 1986 on the soundtrack for the West End musical Time, but this version was the singer’s piano performance of the song, featuring a different vocal take.
Dave Clark, of the Dave Clark 5, penned the piece, who then enhanced the recording with Mercury at Abbey Road Studio, but he admits, “It was fabulous – but I still felt there was something about the original rehearsal.”
The demo had been lost until 2017, when Clark created a new mix with Mercury’s vocals, revealing, “It gave me the same goosebumps as when I first heard it.”
