It was just a little over a year ago today when the doors closed at a Tampa landmark. Chances are if you grew here in Tampa, at some point you’ve played a few arcade games and bowled some strings at Tampa Lanes on Dale Mabry. Reviews on sites like Yelp and Google were not kind over its last few years, saying the condition of the alley had deteriorated. But some liked the classic vibe and cheap rates, even with the smell of smoke. For those who remember bowling at Tampa Lanes and playing air hockey and its classic arcade games, it’s be a bit of childhood lost.
