It was June 24, 1994, when Disney released the original "The Lion King" in theaters.
Just as we're about a month away from the release of the live-action remake, we'll celebrate the silver anniversary of the animated version.
Featuring the voices of Jonathan Taylor Thomas and Matthew Broderick as the young and adult Simba, respectively, the cast was filled with familiar names including Rowan Atkinson, Whoopie Goldberg, Cheech Marin, Nathan Lane and Robert Guillaume.
Mufasa, Simba's father, was voiced by James Earl Jones, and his mother, Sarabi, featured the voice of Madge Sinclair. Jones and Sinclair had previously worked together as a king and queen in "Coming To America"
Add the songs of Elton John and Hanz Zimmer, including the Oscar winner for Best Original song ("Can You Feel The Love Tonight") and Best Original Score by Hans Zimmer.
