The lawyer for Ms. Culwell sparked outrage in the California courtroom when he said, "puppies aren't people". Cullwell is charged with 7 counts of animal cruelty for dumping a page of puppies into a dumpster in Coachella.
The attorney argued that her bail should not be increased because her crime is against animals, not people.
