Dog the Bounty Hunter star Beth Chapman was honored on Saturday (June 29th) with a memorial in Hawaii. According to Today.com, Beth was cremated so Dog Chapman is also planning a second memorial service for her in Colorado.
The Hawaiian memorial featured a traditional Hawaiian "oli" chant as well as a "paddle out" to honor Beth. Beth's daughter Bonnie shared this:
“Thank you everyone who came today. She’d love the ceremony and the flowers everyone brought. Thank you for joining us on this emotional ride.”
Beth's step daughter known as "Baby Lyssa" had this to say:
“Someone wake me up from this awful dream. I have no words. Still in disbelief. Pray for our family, as we lost our strongest member.”
An emotional Dog (Duane Chapman) led the service in Waikiki at Fort DeRussy Beach for Beth saying that he tried to get Beth to "call [him] 'Dog' for so many years," and she finally did on her deathbed when she told him, 'Hawaiian style [memorial] please, Duane 'Dog' Chapman ... Please do this right.' He then went on to add;
"She loved Hawaii and she loved the people. The people mostly, she loved," he told the crowd. "Thank you all, God bless you all."
Later Dog tweeted the following announcement on his Twitter page:
Stay tuned for the information regarding Beth's Colorado memorial as we continue to pray for the family.
