According to The Buddy Martin Show, Tampa resident and long-time Florida Gator football staple, George Edmondson (Mr. 2-Bits) has died at the age of 97.

If you have ever been to a Florida Gator football game, there is no doubt you saw (and may remember) “Mr. 2-Bits”. He was a HUGE part of the Gator football program, doing his “2-Bits” routine since 1949. Wow! Now that’s commitment.

A student favorite, Mr. 2-Bits, had the energy and charisma of a Gator freshman… right to the end.

Below is the LAST time that Mr. 2-Bits did his famous, game-starting cheer at Florida Field. George waits for the band to finish in the end zone… and then lets it rip. I get emotional just watching, knowing now that he has passed.

Love or hate the Gators… God Bless bless the soul of Mr. 2-Bits. He brought a lot of joy to hundreds of thousands of Florida Gator fans for over 60 years.
