Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office

Here we go again. Another genius playing cops and robbers gets burned when he tried to pull over a REAL cop. IONTB reports 35 year old Barry Lee Hastings Jr fixed up his black Crown Victoria with a siren box and lights that look just like the ones on Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office vehicles. Dude even had a CB radio. He really likes role playing. They didn't find any handcuffs or a gun fortunately.

At about 8:30 last night (July 4), they say Hastings pulled over a deputy who was off duty from Lee County. The real cop asked to see identification when the fake cop told him to slow down. When Hastings couldn't produce ID, the real cop even offered to go back to the station with him so he could get it! When the real cop called 911, Hastings took off on I-4 and got off the Branch Forbes Road exit. A real HCSO deputy placed Hastings under arrest.

At least he has a real Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office photo he can use as a souvenir now. Maybe he can now pretend to be a judge and get the charges dismissed.
