We Miss The Humming Birds (VIDEO)
When people ask me if I miss living in Southern California I say…
People often ask me if I miss living in southern California. My answer usually is, "What I DO miss about it is our humming birds".
We lived in the Hollywood Hills, on the Sherman Oaks side. We were lucky enough to have a home that was sticking out from the side of the Hills, elevated nearly 1,000 feet above the city. The views were spectacular. But what the elevation also brought us was the perfect ecosystem for humming birds. Hundreds and hundreds of humming birds, of all sizes and colors.
We had three different bird feeders out on our back terrace. Two of the feeders were for the humming birds and one was for cardinals. My wife Christine LOVED the beautiful birds that would frequent us. She'd be refilling the feeders daily (sometimes twice a day because they drank so much). They were her "babies".
