Berkeley California: Berkeley California will no long refer to manholes as manholes, they will be maintenance holes in a new none gender-specific code.
The words 'He' and 'She' will be replaced by 'They'. The words 'Manpower' and 'Manhole' will become 'Workforce' and 'Maintenance Hole'.
There will no more 'Craftsmen' only 'Crafts People'.
The changes to the city code were suggested by a 23 year old graduate who says he is much more sensitive to gender issues after his college experience.
