Pinellas County Sheriff Bob Gualteri says he wish he was surprised but he’s not. It’s been a year and a half and not all schools are in compliance with the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Safety Act.

Some districts don’t have the security measures in place that are required by law. The districts have been funded for these safety measures to be put in so why aren’t they ready. Sheriff Bob Gualteri says complacency is the problem.

At least one “Safe School Officer” should be in every school.
