Clearwater Beach Lightning Victim Dies

A local man who was hit by lightning on Clearwater Beach last Sunday has now died.
According to ABC Action News, Garry Perks of New Port Richey died today from (what is being described as ) a direct lightning strike while on the beach in front of Frenchy's Rockaway Grill.
Clearwater Police say 36 year-old Perks was hit by a massive lightning bolt that caused Perks to go into cardiac arrest. Perks was rushed to Mornton Plant Hospital where he died today.
A total of 7 other people were injured, all of those folks are doing fine at this time.
