Macy’s Ditches Plates After Twitter Backlash

Well, you won't have the option anymore to serve yourself or your guests on one of the plate sets that Macy’s just stopped selling. Macy's quickly pulled a line of dinner plates from its stores that were decorated with labels that offended some.
The plates had circles indicating a smaller portion, a medium-sized one and a larger one, with them labeled from small to large as “skinny jeans,” “favorite jeans” and “mom jeans.” One writer and podcast host on Twitter tagged Macy’s in a tweet with her message, “How can I get these plates from @Macys banned in all 50 states.” The Twitterverse exploded and Macy’s tweeted with an announcement that they’d be pulling the plates. But some people on Twitter liked the plates and said, “If you don’t like them, don’t buy them. The world doesn’t revolve around you. Sit down.”
