If you were one of the people whose info was leaked, you're owed money. This isn't one of those hypothetical settlements where you get like $4. We're talking $125. I checked this morning and sure enough, I'm one of them. It's weird. You feel lucky and violated at the same time. The good thing is I have my credit frozen so even if the crooks got my SSN and address, they can't do much with it. I filled out the online claim so a $125 check is on the way. I'll update this article when it arrives. You also have option of getting credit monitoring instead of a cash payment.

About that credit freeze I mentioned, seriously you should look into it. I've been chatting with Facebook friends tonight and was surprised how many had never heard of it. A credit freeze means nobody (including you) can apply for credit with your information. If you DO need credit, you can temporarily unfreeze it for a period of time or for a certain company.
