The Equifax Link To Check To See If You’re Owed $125

I know this seems fishy. But I did a lot of reading and it’s legit. Remember that Equifax security breach back in 2017? If you were one of the people…

Former Equifax CEO Richard Smith testifies before the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Digital Commerce and Consumer Protection Subcommittee in the Rayburn House Office Building on Capitol Hill October 3, 2017 in Washington, DC. Smith stepped down as CEO of Equifax last month after it was reported that hackers broke into the credit reporting agency and made off with the personal information of nearly 145 million Americans. I know this seems fishy. But I did a lot of reading and it's legit. Remember that Equifax security breach back in 2017? If you were one of the people whose info was leaked, you're owed money. This isn't one of those hypothetical settlements where you get like $4. We're talking $125. I checked this morning and sure enough, I'm one of them. It's weird. You feel lucky and violated at the same time. The good thing is I have my credit frozen so even if the crooks got my SSN and address, they can't do much with it. I filled out the online claim so a $125 check is on the way. I'll update this article when it arrives. You also have option of getting credit monitoring instead of a cash payment.

About that credit freeze I mentioned, seriously you should look into it. I've been chatting with Facebook friends tonight and was surprised how many had never heard of it. A credit freeze means nobody (including you) can apply for credit with your information. If you DO need credit, you can temporarily unfreeze it for a period of time or for a certain company.

By the way, I know I probably wouldn't trust some dumb DJ like me either. :) If you want to read up on this more... here are a few articles about it.
