CNN reports that authorities thwarted three separate mass shooting plans this weekend. All three arrests came from tips by the public.
Tristan Scott Wix of Daytona Beach, Florida was arrested at a Winn Dixie parking lot outside of the store on Friday.
It is alleged that Wix sent his girlfriend a series of texts threatening a mass shooting. Volusia County Sheriff’s Office says that Wix’s girlfriend alerted authorities. Wix is quoted as texting the he wanted to, “open fire on a large crowd”.
