The 11pm update from the National Hurriane Center is out and although things could still change, it’s looking likely that Florida could see a Category 1 hurricane when Dorian arrives this weekend. The current path puts Dorian on Florida’s east coast Sunday night. Where it heads from there, time will tell. The good news for us in the Tampa area is the storm would weaken once it travels over land should it head west across the state.

The odds of a land-falling hurricane in #Florida (or the SE US) are slowly increasing.

Lots of discrepancy among the models. The trusty ECMWF & NHC have #Dorian making landfall in east central Florida. The Japanese (JMA), however, has the storm avoiding landfall. Stay tuned! pic.twitter.com/d8kXfWt0Wg

The latest #NHC 11PM advisory now calls for #Dorian to strengthen into a Cat.1 HURRICANE before making landfall along the #FLwx coast on Sunday.

This is still a COMPLEX forecast, as interaction with Puerto Rico's terrain, along with wind shear & dry air, can fizzle Dorian. ???? pic.twitter.com/yaxVp8LznZ
