Hurricane Dorian May Make Landfall In The Carolinas and The Bahamas
Hurricane Dorian’s path appears to be changing. According to CNN, parts of the Bahamas will start to experience strong winds early Sunday morning. The storm system is slowing down, which will add to rainfall accumulation on those islands, which are low-lying; flooding is expected to be a major issue there.
According to CNN’s “Storm Tracker,” the storm is expected to make its continental U.S. landfall in the Carolinas, and not in Florida, as originally forecasted. However, there still is a chance that it will hit Florida (as storms are difficult to predict with 100% certainty). And even if it doesn’t hit Florida, the storm could get close enough to the shore to provide significant impacts to the entire Florida coastline.
CBS News reports that a number of airlines have added flights, and issued temporary baggage and pet in cabin fee waivers, and restrictions on unaccompanied minor travel, and cruise lines have altered their trips.
