It's stingray season in Florida. To avoid being stung, they say the best thing you can do is shuffle your feet as you get into the water. That's the advice from Bay News 9 as we are now in mating season for stingrays. They're said not to be aggressive. Instead they are just trying to protect themselves and they don't see very well. The shuffling technique works because they feel the vibrations and they'll take off. If you're stung, you'll experience swelling but usually it's not much worse than that. Go see a lifeguard if one is nearby is BN9's advice. Stingray season runs through next month.
