A new study identified two local intersections in the Tampa area as a couple of the worst in the country, as it relates to drivers running red lights.

American Traffic Solutions looked at data collected from 2,000 red light cameras across the nation and came up with a comprehensive list.

If you drive around the Tampa Bay area, you may agree with a couple of their selections that made top spots on the list of red-light-runners:

Tampa’s East Hillsborough Avenue at North 22nd Street

New Port Richey’s U.S. 19 at Trouble Creek Road.

On a positive note, in 2020 the Florida Department of Transportation plans to start a $2 million safety improvement project. The improvements will take place along U.S. 19 and will include new traffic lights and street lights.

Where are other intersections around our Tampa Bay area that you’ve identified red-light-runners?
