Why did they use THAT picture?

We get this question all the time so instead of replying to each snarky comment on social media, I thought I'd just post this. ;-)

When you post a photo to your Facebook page, you might just use Google and take an image from another web site. We can't do that. Lawyers would send us nasty letters asking for lots of money. We'd rather give that money to you with Q105 contests. We can only use photos that we have the rights to in our stories. That means it has to be a photo we've taken ourselves (we're DJs not photographers) or a photo that one of the photographers in our agency took. We have a great service with talented photographers all over the world. But still there will be stories I do where there's no perfect photo available to use. So instead, often you'll see a story with an image that's vague or related, but not from the actual scene of a story. Now you know why. Make sense?
