Have you ever been mid-flight and the smell of something foul drifts your way? Well, a frustrated Kenyan politician wants to do something about mid-flight farts and she took her concerns to a parliament debate.

“If there is any one given irritant that makes people fight on board, it is the fart. It is terrible within the plane,” Nairobi MP Lilian Gogo says.

Dr. Gogo is proposing special training for airline crew, a modified food and drink menu as well as paramedics on board of local and international flights as a solution to the problem.

Dr. Gogo says she has “experienced passengers go through the agony of long flights. We cannot be secured on board when the other passengers are experiencing discomfort. Farting and flatulence are done progressively and can be contained.”

Have you ever had someone fart during a flight? Was it so bad you had to alert the flight staff?
