Last night was a big night for “Bachelor Nation”, as fan anxiously awaited the naming of the guy that would be the next Bachelor, on season 24 of the popular ABC show .

The announcement came during the show’s spin off series, Bachelor in Paradise.  The show revealed they had selected Peter Weber, who was one of the final three bachelors on Hannah Browns season as the bachelorette.

Unfortunately, the show did not receive the excitement and approval they had  hoped for. While Peter Weber may be a a nice guy, fans had well documented their first choice as being Mike Johnson. Johnson is a retired Air Force veteran who was also on Hannah’s season… and one of the last to go.

Johnson had fans fall in love with him for his charming, vulnerable ways. He had a strong sense of family and military background. Being the only male in his family raised by women, he showed a deep respect and understanding of women. And… he would have also been the first ever “black” bachelor.

Naturally, the fans are voicing their displeasure on their social media pages today saying it was a “Missed opportunity to have the perfect choice for the first ever black bachelor”.

Only time will tell if viewers return. For now, they sure have a lot of disappointed fans to contend with. What are your thoughts? Did they make the right choice?
