The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office has charged two Horizon Middle School students with “Making written threats to kill or conduct a mass shooting”.
An investigation began when information was given to authorities about the two students who allegedly had a conversation about carrying out school violence, possibly a shooting at the school.
Reportedly, the students involved also created a list of who would be “safe” during the planned event. Officials say the list contained names of students who would remain safe during their shooting spree, and also had named students who would be on the “STAB” list.
There was also discussion of sneaking a gun into the school and shooting students as well as stabbing them, according to Deputies.
The information was reported to authorities by a another student who was present during the conversation. The Sheriffs Office say both students admitted to the discussion and to creating the list, but they claimed that they were only joking.
According to officials, the two students who admitted to creating the list were charged, transported and booked into the Juvenile Detention Center.
