Negotiating through camp and into preseason, the Tampa Bay Lightning and Brayden Point have come to an agreement on a multi-year deal.
A restricted free agent following the 2018-19 season, 23-year-old Brayden Point and the Lightning have been working on a deal that had many rumors from around the hockey world. The news today that the deal was finalized puts those rumors to rest.
Point signed for three years, $20.25 million. That’s an average against the salary cap each season of $6.75 million.
Last season, Point scored 41 goals and had a total of 92 points. 41 goals tied for 6th in the NHL.
