Some visitors enjoying a ride on Disney World’s new Skyliner Gondola report that they were stuck on the ride for hours on Saturday night (10/5).

According to witnesses, the ride was experiencing some sort of mechanical malfunction. One passenger reports that they were stuck on the ride for over 2 hours.

Skyliner, the new transportation system was launched on September 29th. The new Skyliner ride connects Hollywood Studios, Epcot, Disney’s Art of Animation Resort, Disney’s Pop Century Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and a proposed vacation club property called Disney’s Riviera Resort.

A Walt Disney World spokeswoman said that there were no reported injuries and that it was merely “unexpected downtime” on the Skyliner ride.

The company also said in a news release that the aerial transportation system will be closed while Disney “looks into the details surrounding the downtime”.
