As both a Gwen Stefani fan… and a fan of the show “The Voice”, I was thrilled when Gwen agreed to come back this year for season 17.

But just as we got used to seeing Gwen and her main man (and mega country music star) Blake Shelton vie for contestants, the show announced she would NOT be staying past this season. What a bummer!

Stefani’s addition to the show has livened things up quite a bit. But she revealed that her plans are to return to Las Vegas, to resume the final dates of her Just a Girl residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater in February and May 2020. That’s a bit of a conflict with The Voice, as that is when their spring cycle will be taping.

Gwen was quoted as saying .. “I didn’t expect to be doing [the Vegas show] and ‘The Voice’ at the same time. I just feel like I’m alive in a way I’ve never been before, because I have to be! Because doing both is a lot!”

So, who will be replacing Gwen next season? The show announced the next Voice coach will be none other than Nick Jonas. He will be joining the judge’s line-up for the first time in the upcoming season.

An air date has not yet been announced for season 18 of the NBC hit show. The premiere is set for sometime next year. Nick cold be a good choice.. but I miss Gwen already. :-/
