Matt Lauer is denying that his affair with NBC co-worker Brooke Nevils was non-consensual. Lauer wrote a letter denying that accusations that he raped Nevils while covering the Olympics in Sochi, Russia. “The story Brooke tells is filled with false details intended only to create the impression that this was an abusive encounter,” write Lauer, who admits to having consensual oral, vaginal and anal sex with Nevils. Lauer laid out some of his own facts that countered those in Variety’s story on Ronan Farrow’s “Catch and Kill” book. Lauer also denied reports that he had a button installed in his office that would lock the door from the inside, “it didn’t exist,” writes Lauer. NBC News released a statement after Variety’s report saying, “That’s why he was fired within 24 hours of us first learning of the complaint. Our hearts break again for our colleague.” Who do you believe? Matt Lauer or Brooke Nevils?
