St. Petersburg man is facing attempted murder and arson charges after he went on a trailer park rampage.

The incident happened in a St. Pete just before 9pm on Thursday. Police say 43 year old Bertram Mann, set a trailer on fire with a Molotov cocktail and then attacked a man with a hatchet.

There were two witnesses who saw Mann place the Molotov cocktail at the door of the trailer the victims were in, according to the arrest report.

Police say one of the witnesses was able to kick the cocktail out of the trailer, but it still burst into flames when it hit the ground outside. The other witness was able put it out with a fire extinguisher.

When the witnesses approached Mann to ask what was he doing, he attacked one of them with a hatchet. The victim was hit repeatedly in the back and chest and required immediate medical attention, according to police.

Mann fled the scene, but was later apprehended by police. He is charged with first-degree attempted murder and first-degree arson.
