Claudia Maines shared her story with ABC Action News warning others about extra charges on her car rental. Maines rented an SUV from Budget Car Rentals in New Port Richey and she decided to spend a day at the beach before returning the SUV.
Budgets car rental contract does warn of extra charges for "excessive dirt" but Maines said it was just a little sand. Maines offered to have her boyfriend vacuum the car and get the sand out but Budget's Manager in New Port Richey refused. They charged her credit card $250 for cleaning the car and the Budget Office in New Port Richey refused to comment on this story.
