Pat Sajak Undergoes Emergency Surgery

According to Wheel Of Fortune’s own FB page, host Pat Sajak had emergency surgery this week to correct a blocked intestine, forcing “Wheel” to cancel its taping schedule on Thursday.

And while Pat was still out on Friday, it seems a familiar face was there to step in to host. The lovely Vanna White, long time hostess of Wheel of Fortune, was happy to fill in for Sajak as host on Friday.

So, who turned the letters on Vanna’s board while she hosted? Rumors say that since it was “Disney Week” on Wheel, Mickey Mouse was brought in to take over those duties for Vanna.

Wheel of Fortune tweeted that Sajak’s surgery was “successful.” They put out the Facebook post below:

“Our taping on Thursday was canceled because host Pat Sajak underwent successful emergency surgery to correct a blocked intestine. He is resting comfortably and looking forward to getting back to work. Taping resumed today as scheduled and Vanna White has stepped in as host,”

73 year old Pat Sajak has hosted Wheel of Fortune since 1981. And hostess Vanna White joined Wheel of Fortune a year later.

During my tenure as the announcer of Wheel of Fortune both Pat Sajak and Vanna White were very sweet to me. I am happy to hear that Pat’s surgery went well. We all look forward to Pat returning to the show soon.
