Roberto Maldanato says he was driving a friend to the outlet mall but before he reached his exit, the crash happened. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a semi-truck started the crash by rear-ending an SUV causing the SUV to rear-end Maldonato's car. Maldonato says he was awake the whole time but couldn't see anything because his airbags deployed.
Roberto Maldonato said he and his friend were bruised and beat up but nothing compares to the two lives that were lost.
