Paul McCartney has booked a major date for 2020 and will be headlining the Glastonbury Festival in 2020.

Sir Paul confirmed the news saying on Instagram, "Excited to be part of @glastofest’s anniversary celebrations!"

Glastonbury organizer Emily Eavis, daughter of festival founder Michael Eavis, said on Twitter, "It's real! So excited having Paul McCartney coming back to headline the Pyramid [Stage] next year is an absolute dream come true. There really was no one that we wanted more for the 50th anniversary at Glastonbury Festival."

Tickets for Glastonbury, which will take place June 24-28, have already sold out. The only other artist confirmed for the festival is Diana Ross, who will play the festival's "legend slot" on Sunday, June 28.
