Florida School District Hires Goats For Maintenance
Imperial Estates Elementary in Titusville has a large lot attached to their property. It’s a dry pond bed with rough terrain and nobody can get in there to maintain the land. Tortoises are in the dry pond bed and they are protected in Florida complicating the issue of how to keep it landscaped even more.
Brevard County School District has come up with a very creative solution….goats! The goats love the rough terrain and they chew up more grass and weeds than you think. Starting on December 3rd, two dozen goats will get in there and clear the area that smacks right up next to a basketball court so the school can keep everyone safe from snakes and other critters that hide in the untamed area.
