According to their own Facebook page, the United States Coast Guard states that their crew from the Fort Myers Beach station was out on a night patrol when they received a call about a dog in distress in the Gulf of Mexico. Details are sketchy, but the USCG is quoted as saying:

“Thanks to the crew’s expertise in intercepting non-compliant vessels… our “star” of the night was safely recovered and returned to her owner,” the post says.

This dog was very lucky, (as was the owner) that the Coast Guard was positioned where they could save this frightened baby. This beautiful dog looked bushed when they pulled him in.

Thank you to the U.S. Coast Guard for a job well done!
