Florida’s First Alpine Snow Park Opening In Dade City

There will be a 60 feet tall snow tubing hill and giant snow play dome with over 10,000 square feet of the white stuff.

Children play in the snow and ride sleds at a park in Zehlendorf district on December 18, 2010 in Berlin, Germany. Recent winter storms have blanketed central Europe with snow and caused traffic and air travel havoc across the region.

OK it may not quite look this winter scene shot in Germany, but there's snow in the forecast for Dade City... in 2020. It's called Snowcat Ridge. ABC Action News says there will be a 60 feet tall snow tubing hill and giant snow play dome with over 10,000 square feet of the white stuff. You ride a "magic carpet" to get to the top of the hill and then you take a ride down the 400 foot slope. Inside the snow dome, you will be able to build a snowman or a fort. There will be light shows at night. The Apline Village will be a chill out spot where you can sip hot chocolate by the fire.

Unfortunately it's not ready yet. They expect to open in November 2020 at 27839 Saint Joe Road in Dade City, Florida.
