The Florida state senate is pushing a bill that would offer more benefits to increase film production.

If the bill is approved it would set up a program that offers rebates to studios that produce films in Florida.

Projects that would qualify include TV shows that spend $500,000 per episode or films/digital media that have budgets over $1.5 million.

As long as these projects spend the minimum required number of filming days in Florida and hire a minimum number of Florida residents, they would qualify for a cash rebate.

The bill was approved by the State Commercife and Tourism Committee.
