Earnest Mobley of Winter Haven is being credited with being a real-life hero at this hour.
According to Bay News 9, a house-fire broke out at the home of Patricia Rose, in the 1300 block of 4th. St. NE in WInter Haven, very close to the police station on Friday afternoon.
Mobley and neighbors are reported to have heard cries of “Come help me! Come help me!” That’s when Mobley fought through flames and smoke (3 seperate times) to retrieve the home’s elderly occupant.
BN9 quotes Mobley as saying, “She’s my neighbor. That’s just it. I done known her for God knows how long. I would want somebody to do that for my mom if it was her.”
Truely a heoric feat!
