Rod Stewart Reportedly Punched Resort Employee on New Year’s Eve

Rod Stewart and his son, Sean, reportedly got into a dustup on New Year's Eve at the Breakers Resort in Palm Beach, Fla.

Per People, both Stewarts have been ordered to appear at the Palm Beach County Criminal Justice Complex on February 5 on charges of simple battery.

The police report from the incident states Rod and Sean were with a group of people at the resort and tried to access a private event in the children's area of the resort. One source told People the group "were being loud and disruptive all night" and compared the group to a "frat party." When they were denied access, both Rod and Sean "became agitated," with Sean shoving a security guard and Rod punching the guard in the "left ribcage area."

A rep for Rod Stewart has yet to comment on the situation, but a source told People, "It was a brief misunderstanding and neither Rod nor Sean were detained. Apologies were exchanged and there were no injuries."
