Hillsborough County Commission To Vote On Decriminalizing Marijuana

Hillsborough County commissioners are set to vote on whether to change how the county handles marijuana charges.

In 2019, the ordinance was changed to allow for citations to be given for people who had less than 20 grams of marijuana.

Now they are voting on a new ordinance that would soften the punishment even more. If passed, offenders would need to enter a program, but it wouldn't show on their record rather than jail time.
