Mardi Gras Comes To Dunedin
You don’t have to go to New Orleans to experience Mardi Gras this year…

Photo by Sean Gardner/Getty ImagesThe City of Dunedin will host its 29th annual Mardi Gras Parade and Festival this weekend, Saturday Feb. 22nd.
It's known as one of the largest Mardi Gras celebrations in the Southeast and it's happening in downtown Dunedin, from 12-noon to 11 pm. Live music begins at 1:00 pm.
The parade gets underway at 7 p.m., (in front of TD Ballpark, 373 Douglas Ave). The parade will proceed north on Douglas Avenue, ending near Skinner Boulevard.
Attendance is expected to be around 34,000 people this year. Main Street will be lined with food and craft vendors. The parade will feature floats as well as the Mardi Gras King and Queen.
The main stage will feature the bands listed below:
- Gumbo Limbo Cajun Band
- She’s That Dude
- Doyle’s Revenge
- Bryan Lee Six String Therapy
- TBone Hamilton’s Big Easy Revue
Playing on the west stage:
- Lee Pons
- Whiskey Richards
- Fade to Grace
- Gypsy Elise & the Royal Blues
