Florida is well known for our many water sports like fishing, boating, water and jet skiing, the list goes on and on. But could a snow tube park in the “sunshine state”  actual be a reality?

Well it’s true! According to Southern Living.com, Florida is getting it’s first alpine snow park known as Snowcat Ridge. The new park is scheduled to open this coming November (2020). The park will be located in Dade City, Florida which is only about 45 minutes northeast of Tampa.

Snowcat Ridge will have a 60-foot-tall, and 400-foot-long, snow tubing hill. It will also have an Alpine Village and a 10,000-square-foot snow play dome.

The dome will allow guest to experience the fun of building snowmen or having a snowball fight with friends. It will also have a miniature hill for the smaller guests to tube down on.

The park’s Alpine Village will be a place where visitors can shop, eat, or just relax in between all the fun of snow tubing.

The park’s greatest thrill is touted to be it’s giant snow tubing hill, where riders will board the “magic carpet lift” to the snow tubes at the top of the hill. Guest can ride down in a single, tandem, or six-person tube.

The park will offer a special light show every night that will take place both on the snow hill and also inside the snow play dome. There will also be a place for patrons to sit and watch the tubers and view the night-light show.

CEO of Snowcat Ridge,Benjamin Nagengast, says…

“Snowcat Ridge will be unlike anything anyone has seen before in the Sunshine State and we are incredibly excited to unveil our vision for the new alpine snow park today.”

And the Creative Director of Snowcat Ridge, Mark Bremer added…

Some folks think it’s impossible to experience snow tubing and the joy of snow in Florida, but our team is all about making the impossible, possible. The new alpine snow park will be unique in all regards and our team is thrilled to be launching in November 2020.”

I can’t wait for the park to open and to experience snow, right here in our home state of “Florida, The Sunshine State”!
