Coronavirus Information Center

It’s the news we hoped we wouldn’t hear. Fox 13 reports tonight that Governor Ron DeSantis has issued a public health emergency after 2 Tampa Bay residents have tested “presumptively positive” for COVID-19. We don’t know much more than this yet. They say no information has been released yet about the status of the patients, how old they are or specifically where they are. We just know there is one case in Manatee County and one in Hillsborough County. ABC Action News reports the Hillsborough patient has traveled to Italy. They say the Manatee patient is being treated in Sarasota and has not traveled to countries restricted by the CDC. The Florida Department of Health says both individuals are isolated and being cared for.
