Does the thought of you traveling in intergalactic space sound hard to believe?

Maybe not so much, with the advanced technology we are fortunate enough to live with today. Even though, personal space travel still seems highly unlikely in our lifetime. Right?

Not so! According to That'sSoTampa.com, Tampa Bay residents will soon have the opportunity to experience just that, intergalactic space travel. This will come in the form of a new Virtual Reality experience that will take place inside a large float tank.

Check out the Instagram post below.

This new VR experience is pioneered by Ryan Holmes and promises to give you the experience of orbiting the earth on the space shuttle. All without leaving the comfort of a float tank. The tank offers the feeling of a zero gravity environment that takes you on a multi sensory, out of this world journey.

Holmes is quoted as saying, "The overview effect is a cognitive shift in awareness reported by some astronauts during spaceflight, often while viewing the Earth from outer space."

The newest location is in Tampa at Tampa Floats Wellness Center, located at 14405 N. Dale Mabry HwyThe VR experience lasts about an hour. The "travel" is 45 minutes and followed by 15 minutes of floating for deep meditation.

Holmes says about half the folks that have tried the experience have left crying. Seems it's somewhat of an "out of body experience". Other's who have tried it said they felt a tremendous wave of gratitude wash over them. Sounds like something we could all use at the end of a long, tough week.

The cost for this emotional experience is $99.00. Not too bad, about the cost of a good massage. I know I'm looking forward to seeing what this it truly all about. How about you?

Space travel isn't the only virtual reality experience people are loving. Take a look at a few other folks enjoying the technology of virtual reality in many different ways...
