I never really paid much attention to those "National This and That Days" but right now we could all use the distraction. Today's fictitious holiday is one I can throw my weight behind: National Cheesesteak Day. I'm not all that crazy about Philadelphia. But I will say they have perfected the use of Cheez Whiz. For us here in the Tampa area, it gets no better than a place in Dunedin called Delco's. I don't think there's any other shop in the area that you can compare to Delco's, but if I'm wrong, let me know. My contact info is at the bottom of this article.
If you're a fan of Delco's or any other local shop that has something special, consider buying a gift card to help them through this tough time. I've had my share of "the real deal" in trips to Philadelphia. If you ever go, here are the good spots to hit up.
